Description: There are two ferry terminals in the Nanaimo area with routes to the mainland.
One ferry route runs from downtown Nanaimo, Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver. Sailing is roughly 1hr. 40mins..
The other route runs from South Nanaimo, Duke Point, to Tsawwassen, southeast of Vancouver. The sailing time is 2 hrs. This route is used by a lot of commercial truck traffic, as well as regular traffic.
Both routes afford ample time to meet and find a place to play.
Lots of eye candy on the sailings. Bathrooms are busy and lots of potential squirt traffic. Be careful as there are lots of people using the washrooms.
The main deck washrooms are adequate for cruising and finding a playmate though they are tight quarters. I find most ships have handicapped washrooms and/or a mothers room which make excellent hookup areas
Lots of commercial traffic and horny truckers with trucks and sleeper cabs. If you can arrange a meeting ahead of time, truckers often stay in their trucks.
There may be opportunities to play in washrooms at the terminal while waiting for sailing. Lots of people wait long times here and have all sorts of vehicles from SUVs to vans, RVs, and commercial trucks.
Night-time sailings there is less foot traffic on the outer decks, especially at the rear of the boat, and can have decent privacy.
On some decks, you can stay in your vehicle during sailing which is also private. Ferry employees do walk through but they are sporadic and they usually do not peer into vehicles.
The safest way to connect is by posting the day/date/time you are sailing and if possible which boat and any other info to assist with connecting.
