Description: William Birch pool rest area is located approx 20 mins NORTH-WEST of Wanganui on State Highway 3 on the way to Waitotara / Waverly and approx 45 mins from Bulls. It's not overly well signposted in either direction so have to keep your eyes open for the sign. If heading from the Naki it will be on the right-hand side as you head down the hill just after the bend in the road or will be on the left-hand side as you're traveling toward Waverley / Patea. There is only 1 public toilet so not great to hook up with but there are plenty of trees and tracks to go off and have some discrete fun in.
