Description: Sherwood Island State Park, located in Westport, has a large beach which stretches for 1.5 miles. The far east end of the beach is a gathering place for gay men. Nudity is very limited. A few gay men sunbathe nude in the tall grass at the east end, but usually early mornings weekdays or other times when the crowds are particularly sparse. The central beach area has restrooms, concessions and other amenities.
